H.E. Ambassador Mulu Solomon conferred with H.E. Mr. Pawel Jablonski

On July 05, 2021, H.E Ambassador Mulu Solomon Bezuneh, Special Envoy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the Republic of Poland (Resident in Germany) met H.E. Mr. Pawel Jablonski, Under Secretary of State for Economic and Development Cooperation, Africa and the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

Discussions mainly focused on bilateral cooperation and the situation in the Tigray Region of Ethiopia. Ambassador Mulu explained the recent decision by the Ethiopian Government to declare a unilateral humanitarian cease-fire in Tigray.
The Ambassador highlighted that the government is providing unfettered access and unhindered mobility to the Media and International Organizations who want to operate in Tigray. However, relief supports from the international organizations remained low. Currently up to 5.2 million people are covered with basic humanitarian needs where 70% is covered by the Ethiopian Government and only 30% by the international community. The Ambassador further noted that investigation is underway through independent bodies to deal with alleged Human right abuses. H.E. Ambassador Mulu further commended and thanked the support given by the Government of the Republic of Poland.

H.E. Mr. Jablonski in his part noted that Ethiopia is one of the most important partners in Africa and expressed desire to elevate the relations of the two countries to a higher level.
H.E. Ambassador Mulu Solomon also met Ms Patrycja Ozcan-Karolewska, Director for the Department of Africa and Middle East before her meeting with H.E. Mr. Jablonski and discussed the Current situation in Tigray, the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Ethiopia -Sudan Boarder situation and the Ethiopia’s 6th National Elections.
