Wishing Happy Christmas to all my Ethiopian, Armenian, Assyrian, Coptic and Orthodox friends. Painting on parchment of the Nativity and the Ethiopian traditional game gena, played at Christmas. The painting is probably by the traditional artist Qes Adamu Tesfaw (1929/30 -). A brilliant artist, his output is uneven and this is not one of his better works in my view, but it’s the right one for the Season!
